Actor Zachary Levi said supporting Donald Trump is “career suicide.” Tell that to Sylvester Stallone.
The 78-year-old is one of the industry’s biggest stars. And he’s been just that since 1976’s Oscar-winning “Rocky.” He’s given us iconic characters, including John Rambo, and currently stars in the hit Paramount+ series “Tulsa King.”
Now, he’s throwing his considerable weight behind a man who survived two assassination attempts and is the enemy of the industry he calls home.

Stallone appeared at Mar-A-Lago Thursday to introduce the country’s former and future president. He invoked his beloved Rocky character, reminding the audience of what Trump endured in recent years.
Two impeachments. Thirty-four felony convictions. Two assassination attempts. The most corrupt media attacks in modern history.
And Trump is still standing. The man who created the ultimate comeback story couldn’t help but sing his praises.
Hollywood be damned.

Stallone recalled the early scenes from “Rocky” to set the stage. He had found a church that had been converted to a boxing gym. The word inscribed on the gym? “Resurrection.” It was the perfect way to introduce Rocky Balboa to audiences.
“At that moment, [Rocky] was a chosen person, and that’s how I began the journey,” he said of his iconic hero. “This man was gonna go through a metamorphosis and change lives … just like President Trump.”
The crowd cheered.
“We’re in the presence of a really mythical character,” he said of Trump. “Nobody in the world could have pulled off what he pulled off, so I’m in awe.”
He spoke some more, emphasizing that he really meant his next few words.
“When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world,” he said. “Guess what? We got the second George Washington.”
Once upon a time, roughly from 2015 to Nov. 4, an actor risked his or her career by publicly supporting Trump. Levi wasn’t wrong, even if a tiny number of actors have embraced Trump and managed to keep finding work.
Rocky Balboa just landed a body blow against that professional bigotry. Heck, he might have delivered a TKO.
Stallone can be seen next in “Armor,” hitting theaters Nov. 22. The film, co-starring Jason Patrick and Dash Mihok, casts Stallone as a thief trying to steal an armored truck brimming with cash.
