‘Spider-Verse’ Fans Worried After Shameik Moore’s Meltdown

Actor Shameik Moore, who voices Miles Morales in the critically acclaimed Spider-Verse films from social media, was “going through it” this weekend. Moore went viral on X, formerly Twitter, after he posted an emotional message to social media just hours after his co-star Hailee Steinfeld announced her engagement to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

The reason that Moore’s tweet go so much attention is that the 29-year-old has gone viral in the past for the way he behaves around Hailee Steinfeld, notably during press junkets, as there’s a compilation video of him lobbying flirty comments in her direction to no avail.

In the Spider-Verse films, Steinfeld’s character of Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman is the romantic interest of Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales.

“There’s still more people to meet. More opportunities to come. And more chances to try. Live, learn, apply,” Moore posted on Twitter after news of her engagement broke.

After getting clowned on for his original post, Moore — who tried to claim that he had “no idea” that Steinfeld was engaged and was actually “reflecting on my 2024 goals that are rolling over into 2025″ — doubled down and continued to post through it, adding later tweets such as “Also crazy what yall decide to engage with when I post,” and “Yall been twisting my words and f—– wit my name for years now.”

Given Moore’s very public crash out and the potential awkwardness that could create with Steinfeld, some movie fans have begun worrying about the fate of the planned third film int the franchise, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which has already been delayed a few times.

Much of social media doesn’t seem to have any sympathy for more, as a post saying “Hard to feel bad for a guy that won’t just take the f—— hint” has racked up over 164,000 likes and 5.7 million views on X, formerly Twitter.

“When it comes to shooting your shot (Espeically at the workplace) you have ONE ATTEMPT. If you flirt and she doesn’t seem receptive it’s over. After that it’s literally harassment,” another viral tweet with over 2.6 million views added.

Since his flurry of tweets on Satruday, November 30, Moore has yet to post anything new.
