French Open champion Iga Swiatek of Poland cemented her place on the high of the ladies’s recreation along with her victory at Roland Garros, reinforcing her place as world No.1 when the WTA launched its new rankings on Monday.

The 23-year-old Swiatek beat Jasmine Paolini in a one-sided remaining on Saturday to declare a fourth French Open title which now places her 3,707 factors forward of Coco Gauff, the lady she beat within the semi-finals in Paris.

Other than a couple of weeks in autumn 2023 when Aryna Sabalenka took over, Swiatek has been on the high of the rankings since April 2022, a complete of 107 weeks.

Gauff’s efficiency, which improved in her quarter-final in 2023, enabled her to leapfrog the Kazakh Aryna Sabalenka who slips to 3rd.

Paolini’s run to her first Grand Slam remaining was ok to elevate her eight locations to a career-high seventh whereas 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva, who fell to the Italian within the semis, jumped 15 locations from 38 to 23.

Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, who reached the semi-finals final yr, went down six locations to No.20 after going out within the first spherical this time.
