We’re on the cusp of a wave of capital investments the likes we’ve never seen. AI and generative AI have sparked an arms race, with every large tech company investing massive amounts of capital to build the necessary data centers and infrastructure. Goldman Sachs projects the amount invested to met data center demand will likely exceed $1 trillion by 2030. Bank of America has said the rewiring of global supply chains, leading to massive factory growth and redesigned logistics networks, will garner another $1 trillion. And according to the International Energy Agency, investments in clean energy and associated technologies necessary to reach net-zero-emissions goals will add even more to the tally, rising from $2 trillion today to an estimated $5 trillion by 2030.
