Florida State has flipped class of 2025 three-star athlete/wide receiver Teriq Mallory from West Virginia.
Mallory, who currently attends Cheshire Academy in Connecticut, was in Tallahassee for an official visit with Florida State over the weekend.
While Mallory was already showing interest in the Seminoles after being offered on Nov. 20, West Virginia also fired head coach Neal Brown on Sunday.
Mallory originally committed to the Mountaineers on June 4, following his official visit to Morgantown. Prior to that, Mallory was committed to Wake Forest from April until early June.
Mallory is expected to play wide receiver for the Seminoles. He will play his college football under head coach Mike Norvell, newly-hired offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn and the rest of the Florida State staff. Notably, Norvell and FSU fired wide receivers coach Ron Dugans in November.
In addition to Florida State, West Virginia and Wake Forest, Mallory had scholarship offers from Connecticut, Duke, Maryland, Massachusetts, Temple and others.
As a senior in the fall of 2024, Mallory recorded 49 receptions for 700 yards and eight touchdowns in eight games played. He earned first-team All-NEPSAC honors for his efforts. Cheshire Academy finished the campaign with a 5-4 record.
Mallory is listed at 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds. He also reports a 6-foot-8 wingspan, giving the Seminoles plenty of size and a wide catch radius in the passing game.
With Mallory’s commitment, Florida State now has two prospects to play the wide receiver position in the 2025 class, as he joins fellow three-star wideout Jordan Scott in the group. The Seminoles now have 13 pledges in their 2025 recruiting class, which ranks 52nd nationally.
Following Brown’s firing and Mallory’s decommitment, West Virginia’s 2025 class currently includes 19 commitments and sits at 50th in the team recruiting rankings.
